Privacy policy

Your reading is yours

Neither The Way: Explore nor The Way: Old Testament collects your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don't sell or share anything, because we don't have it.

Effective 5 November 2026. This policy covers The Way: Explore, The Way: Old Testament and exploretheway.app, all published by NOESA LLC ("we", "us").

In short

  • Nothing is collected. Both apps are listed on the App Store as "Data Not Collected".
  • Your things stay with you. Notes, favourites, progress and children's profiles live on your device, and for Explore in your own private iCloud, which we can't read.
  • No third parties. Neither app contains advertising, analytics or tracking code, or anyone else's software development kit.
  • Purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details.

iPhone, iPad and Mac

The Way: Explore

What stays on your device and in your iCloud

Your favourites, highlights, bookmarks, notes, reading progress and settings are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, Explore syncs them between your own devices through Apple's iCloud, in your account's private database. Only you can read it: we can't see, open or download it. Turn this off any time in your device's iCloud settings. Explore's widgets read the same settings on the device.

What Explore downloads

To keep the app small, Explore downloads full-size pictures, and later updates to its content, from our server. These are one-way downloads: the app doesn't send anything about you or what you read. Like any request on the internet, it reveals your IP address to the server that answers it. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles these requests to deliver the files, and we don't use them to identify or follow anyone.

Purchases

The unlock is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple tells the app only whether it has been bought, so it can open the extra content. We receive no personal information about you from the purchase.

Report a problem

"Report a problem" opens an email in your own mail app. You see what it says, and nothing is sent unless you send it. If you do, see When you email us.

The Way: Stories · iPhone and iPad

The Way: Old Testament

The Way: Old Testament is made for children, and we built it to collect nothing at all.

Children's profiles stay on the device

A grown-up can add a profile for each child: a name or nickname, their telling (Young or Older) and their progress, treasures and journal. All of it is stored only on that device. It isn't sent to us or to anyone else, and it is removed when you delete a profile or the app.

No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking

The app has no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no chat, and no way for a child to share anything with other people. It contains no third-party code.

It works offline

Every story's pictures and narration come with the app, so it doesn't need the internet to read stories. It goes online only to make a purchase through Apple, when a grown-up asks it to.

The grown-up check

Purchases, links that leave the app (such as the App Store page for The Way: Explore) and parent settings all sit behind a parental gate, a question meant for an adult. Children never see prices.

Purchases

The unlock is bought by a grown-up through Apple's App Store, as with Explore. We receive no personal information from it.

Children's privacy

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone, in either app. The Way: Old Testament is designed for Apple's Kids Category and for the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): what a child enters stays on their device, and nothing is shared with us or with any third party.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by emailing us, write to support@exploretheway.app and we'll delete it.

When you email us

If you write to support@exploretheway.app, including through "Report a problem", we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you and to fix what you've told us about. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share your message with anyone except the email provider that delivers it. Ask us at any time and we'll delete your messages.

This website

exploretheway.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. It's served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.

Your choices and rights

Because the apps keep your information on your devices and in your own iCloud, you're in control of it: delete a note, a profile or the app, or turn off iCloud for Explore, and it's gone. Wherever you live, including under the GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws, you can ask us what we hold about you (at most, emails you've sent us) and ask us to correct or delete it.

Changes and contact

If a future version changes what's described here, for example to add syncing to The Way: Old Testament, we'll update this page and its date before that version is released, and say so in the release notes. We won't start collecting children's personal information.
